The danger isn’t over.

It’s only just begun.

Circumstances brought them together and their undeniable connection won’t let them part. But when the past and the present collide, emotions run high—things are said, lines are crossed, and rules are broken. Both focused on crushing the enemy, the retribution is almost too much to bear. Still, there’s no undoing what has already been done, and every action has a consequence.

He loves her and she loves him, but love isn’t a shield.

Sometimes your only choice is the one you’d rather not make. Pushed to the limit, the tainted love of Logan and Elle is in jeopardy. With outside forces driving a wedge between them, they have to dig deep within their souls to release the ghosts of their pasts, and fight even harder for what neither knew they needed—each other.

Can love really conquer all?

She grew up in Rochester, NY and now lives in Florida with her husband and four kids. She's always had a love for reading books and writing. Kim wears a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of her family. However, she always finds time to read. BLURB:

Author's note: Sweet Obsession can be read as a stand alone novel.

Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time.

She's not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. She when she meets the sexy, irresistible Mason King, she sees another opportunity to let loose and go wild. But the gorgeous Aussie isn't interested in just a quick fling with Brooke, and if she wants to get into his bed, she's going to have to do it on his terms.

Loving fast and hard has always been Mason's philosophy.

He doesn't want a meaningless connection, he wants it all and he wants it with Brooke. When she makes her one desire known - to hit it and quit it - Mason wages a plan to ensure Brooke keeps coming back for more. Or so he hopes.

Getting her attention was the easy part. Keeping it might be damn near impossible.

Sweet Obsession is where the Sweet Addiction series meets the Alabama Summer series.

"Regret? Remorse? Fuck that noise...
I'm Brooke Wicks, and I love sex. A lot of it. I don't see any problem with my hit it and quit it philosophy. I'm doing what I want with men I want to do it with.  Peroid."

REVIEW:

****4 sexy Aussie stars****

Mason, Mason, Mason...  OMG. "Yeah?!" lol XO

Okay, let me say...before I get all the hate comments, that I did love the book! I just wished we had more backstory on both Mason and Brooke, a little more to them as separate characters and who they were before they ran into each other.

Sweet Obsession was ALL about Mason for me. Him and Joey made the entire book! I adored everything about Mason's character. There wasn't one thing I would have changed or wanted in his character - except more. He was successful, obscenely cute, walking sex god and sweet beyond words, then there was that filthy mouth of his that did me in. Holy Hell. I adored everything about Mason King. I want more Australian zen!

I was about in tears for him with how much he loved her and was in his head with second guessing and tying to figure women out. Just wanted to cuddle him and make it all better. Usually I am all about the pricks and alpha jerks....Mason blew me away with the feels I had.

Seriously though, a bit disappointed that we didn't get more Dylan, Reese, Juls & Ian. I LOVED all of the Joey and Billy that was included in the book. I just was hoping for that all out spoiling of characters we got from the Alabama Summer series. Even with the bit of Tessa and Luke we got, it wasn't enough. Like, they could have went out with them while they where in Chi town, or something...Yeah? <-- lol Lord have mercy those "Yeahs" of Masons, they killed me.

I liked how Brooke was just like, okay...camping - I'm going to kill it! She tried her heart out. That was the precious part and the best for me, that she actually did enjoy herself regardless of the nerves, we got to read her collective thoughts once she was home and analyzed it for herself, GO BROOKE! She wasn't fighting what was going on too much, and seriously was expecting much more of that, from the blurb, so happy about it.

Brooke's sarcasm, horrible sailor mouth and quick attitude that we ladies get - was hilarious. Some parts of me wanted to just shake the crap out of her... but when she realized what was going on with her and Mason and how much he going above and beyond for more with her was fantastic (have I mentioned how much I love Mason?)...the inventive ways Mason was withholding the sex, cute...cute...cute... I laughed so hard at how she was like, sh*t,  okay.. I can do this - he wants to talk more? Done.  He wants coffee dates? Done. He wants to have more of a friendship? Done. He wants to take me camping, done... I flip the script and handle this! That along with how she was just like, yeah okay - I like this guy, no, no, no...wait...  I LOVE this guy! That made her adorable towards the end for me. The honesty with her emotions and when she cried and how she handled herself, yeah...that's a lot of woman.

OMG HOLY Bejesus....the sexy smut scenes. Once they got it together, that first time... It was amazing. Was even great as the reader to wait until they had it all figured out - thank you Mr. King. XXX Their chemistry was amazing!

I'm ready for more of them...hopefully in Joe's book ( I KNOW - OMG) we'll get some more of MASON and Brooke.

Here goes nothing...

Welcome to my nook world...

I'm still learning to do navigate through this entire blog world and hope to learn how to post my reviews, favorite books lists, bookish music playlists, freebies I find and would like to share, along with new book cover reveals, release blitz...much much more along with posting my book teasers, edits and graphics on here to share with all of my book community.

My name is Jen, not Jennifer lol. I hate answering to that, it makes me think I'm about to be grounded and that's just not cool at 38yrs old.

A lot of my book community and friends I have made through social media know me as my user name  @LakerL24vr.

I am a wife (September 4, 2009) a mother, sister and friend. NY born and raised, now Carolina loving this Carolina living.

I've been proudly losing myself in motherhood for the past 18yrs. I have two teenagers, a daughter- Mandi (18 yrs old) and my son- Joshua (15 yrs old). Along with the 784,983.000 teeners that never seem to leave Momma J's.

My kids are older and now I get to enjoy more ME time. My husband, David 35, is awaiting a heart transplant due to ACSHF. I hadn't read a novel front-to-back as an adult, remembering or enjoying everything about it in a short enough time span to fall in love with one since I became a mom.  During the twelve days I was camping out in the cardiac ICU when my husband was hit with a massive heart attack at age 29, I was handed a novel - This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas, by another wife equally trying to be anywhere but where we were. A few of us wives all there, refusing to leave, became quite close. I guess they knew better than I did how I needed to get out of my own head...without physically leaving where we all were...trying to express how I needed to be able to lose myself without leaving a char... we weren't exactly local to where we lived, I didn't watch television and we were broke beyond belief, since we were living off his truckers paycheck to paycheck while I was attending the last of my college semesters. I have no interest in daytime t.v. and of course didn't want to wake my husband having it on in the first place. Let's remember...there's only so much solitaire you can play on a cell phone, before losing your mind.

All the *feels* I shared within the book (not all good) and having it take me exactly where I needed to go while I was by my husband's side during that time... I have no words, it's really a rather un-healthy love affair with how I got lost (Jesse was a bit weird for me, but loved the novel as a whole).  It brought back my teenage love for reading, that in itself is worth a gazillion bucks.

What Ms. Danni (my new 64 yr old friend and the wife of another heart patient on the cardiac ICU at Carolina UNC Hospitals) did for me that day when she handed me that book - I have no words. I could pick it up and leave it as needed, it was always there for ME and allowed me to be by my husband's side during that time - always there when I need to pick it up, get lost and spend time with my new friends in the world of Jesse. Then she brought my the next two in the series...and then introduced me to Gideon in the Crossfire Series.  Ms. Danni just kept bringing books and books, and books....and I FLOVED it!

This past Mother's Day 2015, my husband and kiddos bought me a Samsung Galaxy tablet nook7. I never was one to read or appreciate ebooks - your supposed to own the book, be able to touch it and turn the pages, right? I never knew much about those ebooks or the entire world that seems to come with them, which has became mine and changed my life.

I think my nook7 was the best material gift I have ever received. I can't be without it. I still have a love for my paperbacks, however; now I purchase them as they become my favorites and only to add to my collection - let's be honest... the damn things are expensive and when you buy as you read.. you could go without food in the house. lol

So, anyway, I have been engulfed with my novels ever since.

I started using Instagram and teaching myself twitter
@LakerL24vr

Still learning all social media, blogs, reading apps & manners lol. I am a beach lifer, wine guzzler and nook hugger. <3 to my all my booksisters who have welcomed and showered me into the fabulous book community.

WHOLE HEART SUPER LOVE for changing my life immensely

He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.  When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours.

My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fin and games until things got intense.   I wanted him, but Chance wouldn't make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back.

I wasn't supposed to fall for the cocky bastard, especially when I knew we'd be going our separate ways.
All good things must come to an end, right?  Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

****4 FUN STARS****

This was an adorable fun read!

Was just what I needed after reading a great emotional mind f $ck like SLAMMER and some other deep reads I've read this week. There wasn't just a part here or there or that had me giggling...I was laughing so hard with most of it!! I was thrown for one hell of a readers time loop when we got about half way through, WHOA... yeah, be prepared.

This read reminded me of Wallbanger by Alice Clayton and the first book in The Rock Chick Series by Kristen Ashley.

Wasn't a heavy drawn out read...just perfect and refreshing!

I had an affair. The most forbidden and seductive affair, and fell in love.

He was a rare gentleman, intelligent and gorgeous; a man every woman desired. Every cell in my body was telling me that he was my happily ever after.

I was stuck in a marriage of mediocrity, I ached for red silk romance and carry me away passion, but not with my husband. I craved HIM.

Living without him was cruel and unusual punishment, even for my wandering heart.

Affairytale is a tantalizing memoir of sultry encounters, hidden grottoes and secret hillside cabins. From the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes to the Southern shores of Maui you'll fall in love with this tell-all memoir that pulls back the veil on infidelity and gives you a rare look into hearts and a bedroom of a real life extramarital affair.

Woven with original love letters and scandalous text messages, this engrossing true love story is sure to break then win your heart.
True Love always find a way.
Sometimes...it starts with an affair.

REVIEW:

I just finished a re-read of Affairytale by C.J. English.

*****5 REAL AS HELL STARS*****

This memoir is beyond amazing. I DO NOT say that lightly or as a filler or for lack of better words. Truly a wonderful, RAW and honest tell of events in a real life love story!!

The emotions that C.J. willingly shared and the realness of the situation she found herself in... I'm just as in love with her self discovery and growth as I am with the story itself. This is a fabulous book!! I have had a few women tell me that they don't want to read a book regarding infidelity. I understand your views and decisions, however; I LOVE to learn and jump outside of any ideals that others put out there and on me.

C.J. did exactly that for me. I learned I am not the only woman who argues with herself lol I am not the only woman who has ever (in the past) wondered "what if?" I am not the only woman who gets emotional, prideful, apologetic to myself after my own actions and regretful. I am NOT ALONE having ever thought....It's okay to want MORE. It is NOT selfish to want MORE. It's human nature and LIFE is a one time gig!!

I LOVE this book and wish ALL women, happily married...single...newly divorced or blissfully engaged would take a chance and read this....The story does not lay within the idea of a glorified affair.  I found absolute beauty in the female emotions and how much it made me realize, in all aspects....I am not crazy, weird, alone...nor should I have ever in the past have been ashamed of anything.

AN UPTIGHT BRITISH EXECUTIVE, AN ADVENTUROUS AMERICAN NEWBIE. A SEXY INTERNATIONAL SCANDAL IN THE MAKING
When Ruby Miller's boss announces he's sending her on an extended business trip to New York City, she's shocked. As one of the best and brightest young engineers in London, she knows she's professionally up to the task. The part that's throwing her is where she'll be spending a month up close and personal working alongside-and-staying in a hotel with- Niall Stella, her firm's top urban planning executive and The Hottest Man Alive. Despite her ongoing crush, Ruby is certain Niall barely knows she's alive...until their flirty overnight flight makes him sit up and take notice.

Not one for letting loose and breaking rules, recently divorced Niall would describe himself as hopeless when it comes to women. But even he knows outgoing California-girl Ruby is a breath of fresh air. Once she makes it her mission to help the sexy Brit loosen his tie, there's no turning back. Thousands of miles from London, it's easy for lovers to play pretend. But when the trip is over, will the relationship they've built up fall down?

Quote

"Niall Stella wasn't that much older than me--only seven years--but he looked so young like this. His hair was the tiniest bit mussed near the back, the front falling down over his forehead, shiny and soft. His pale green shirt was rumpled ever so slightly...
...and there...
...on the shoulder...
...was a dark patch of fabric....

Where I had drooled.
......Oh, God."

REVIEW:

****4 STARS****
Ahhh!

I waited in agonizing pain for Niall and Ruby's story. When you fall in love with a series from the first book, get to continue to enjoy all of your characrers and antics as the books continue to come out, their just so much a part of your fictional family. Bennett, Chloe, Sarah, Max, Will, Hanna...I love how they continue to make appearances in each book!!

Christina Lauren books are without a doubt at the top of my FAV list!! I wasn't disappointed with Beautiful Secret either. I LOVE Niall and have loved him since Beautiful Beloved.

I absolutely LOVED how emotionally mature, self aware and confident Ruby was! How great to not deal with excessive baggage. Niall was such a fabulously decent and sexy guy. I was seriously SO MAD at him towards the end of the book, I didn't know how I would forgive him. I had to take a moment and cuss his ass out! I was pretty sure at that point it was cut and dry for me.

I FLOVED this story  XO

Her life is all going to plan - good job, great friends, close family and loving boyfriend - until an unexpected event turns everything on its head. Nursing a broken heart and decked head to toe in tasselled chaps and rhinestones, Natasha and her flamboyant fairy of a gay best friend, Tink, uproot from their Northern nest, throw caution to the win and embark on a new life together in Canada- the land of Rocky mountains, Maple Syrup, oh, and an 'in-between movies' Hollywood mega-star.

Tudor is big, brooding and gorgeous and is harboring a deep secret. Tudor's cold and intimidating demeanor successfully keeps everyone at bay, that is everyone but a certain Ms Munro. It soon becomes clear, what with her smart mouth and lusciously ample arse, that Natasha proves more than a match for the emotionally distant star.

-Will Natasha and Tink settle into their new life abroad?
-Will Natasha ever find her fairytale happy ending?
-Can a movie star and an ordinary girl ever really make it work?

Or will the secrets lurking in Tudor's past threaten her chance at happiness?

REVIEW:

****4, I'm not happy - that's it, stars****

Absolutely Hilarious! I was laughing so hard for most of the book...Adore Tink & Wilbur's (Natasha) BFF relationship!! I snorted and made a fool of myself!!

FABULOUS, ORIGINAL and Funny as hell character banter... between just about every paragraph, was catching my breath and wiping my eyes.  I adore the characters in this story...even down to the relationship with Tudor and his little sister Bee. They didn't interact much between the two - but that just goes to show that Tillie's ridiculously amazing writing touches even the smallest aspects in between characters - I didn't much to see how deep and great he loved her. Natasha takes a job teaching where Tudor's sister is secretly attending under a different name, due to certain circumstances, Natasha ends up spending a lot of time with Bee after school on and for great reason. LOVED IT.

There was so much about this book that I want to spill and tell all.. but it seems that with every thought, comes a spoiler. UGH.  I will tell you a bit more about this book...

This was a great "Pretty Woman" type HEA. No spoiler there, we ALL know Tillie only writes HEAs. I wish we would have seen MORE little details and events of Tash and Tudor's relationship outside of a few early months or private cheesy (just the right amount without cheese overload) moments to make it a bit more real for me. TILLIE IS ONE OF MY QUEENS, so I knew it would be great. Just felt like this was more.... like a little hiccup of a happiness commercial rather than a GREAT love story of a novel...I'm pretty sure that, that sour feeling is because I  WANT MORE.  I hear and have seen on her site, that this is to become a series.. it's been over two years and not a word since. Even though I love the Hades Hangmen series, I hope that Tillie can come back to these characters and give us some more. I'm not happy with one book.

I want to throw this fab book to all my booksisters and tell them..."Hey, how come you haven't hit me over the head with this one?"  If you haven't read it...please do. It's the best kind of feel good.

A FAB read and truly worth my time. XO
